Stakeholders and Collaborations
Stakeholders are defined as the persons, groups, organizations, or systems
that can affect or be affected by the activities, objectives, policies, and
business results of organizations. The financial instruments and services
offered by the banking industry have a direct or indirect impact on a large
section of society. In this context, various stakeholder groups, particularly
customers, investors, employees, and NGOs, expect financial institutions to
generate value in economic, social, and environmental sustainability terms.
Yapı Kredi is aware of the importance of business collaborations with its
stakeholders to improve its sustainability performance. Accordingly, Yapı
Kredi meets with all its stakeholder groups through various channels at
different intervals, depending on the need. The Bank establishes platforms for
mutual dialogue with its stakeholders, which constitutes the basis of its
understanding of sustainability, and receives stakeholder feedback on all its
activities.
Yapı Kredi considers the expectations, opinions, and complaints of the
stakeholders as the primary data in evaluating both its operations and its
sustainability performance.
Through such collaborations the Bank identifies the stakeholder expectations,
which are then:
- Integrated into the product and service development processes,
- Assessed in the context of its risk management practices,
- Reflected in its environmental impact processes,
- Assessed in shaping its corporate social responsibility projects.
Yapı Kredi operates in consideration of all its internal and external
stakeholders' expectations. These efforts are realized in the context of the
strategy defined by the Sustainability Committee. In setting its strategic
expectations, Yapı Kredi takes into consideration the expectations of its
internal and external stakeholders, national and international initiatives and
trends, and also its Environmental, Social and Governance ESG indexes and
ratings. The Bank's sustainability efforts are evaluated under four main
categories: "Climate Crisis and Environment, Risk Management and Corporate
Governance, Sustainable Finance, the People and Society."
